Father Horacio Medina - Catholic Priest and Philosophy Scholar
In his role as a Roman Catholic Priest with the Archdiocese of Newark, Father Horacio Medina delivers sermons that reflect deep-seated knowledge of faith, ethics, and morality. He is also a professor of ancient Greek philosophy and Spanish as a second language at the University Saint Peters. In addition, Father Horacio Medina delivers the Gospel to around 2,000 people each day via an online platform.
Father Medina attended the Seminario San Clemente in Costa Rica in the early 1990s, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in philosophy and humanities. He subsequently completed graduate studies in theology and the sacred scriptures in El Salvador, and earned a journalism and communications degree in Honduras. He had the opportunity to study moral theology at the Scuola Alfonsiana in Rome, where he delved into foundational questions of virtue, vice, morality, and God's will and human free will.
Father Medina has a commitment to helping the less fortunate, and regularly leads prayer among inmates at local prisons. He also visits and counsels patients in hospitals, providing a sense of caring support through painful and trying times.
